ARVO (The Association for Research in Vision and Ophthalmology) members were surveyed about using donor eye tissue in their research. Their answers?
- 43% said it was "difficult" or "very difficult" to get enough research tissue for their sight-saving research.
- 88% said they would use more research tissue if it was more accessible.
- 43% said they regularly limit the scope of their work because of difficulty obtaining tissue that meets their needs.
