Graft Storage and Delivery Optimization
How the graft is stored and delivered to the eye is important. Graft storage and delivery affects how healthy the graft will be after transplant, how long the surgery will take, and availability the of grafts for all. We combine our knowledge of corneal cell biology, eye bank regulations and engineering collaborations to craft the solutions that bring out the best in the cornea.
We are testing now a lubricious coating on glass injectors that hold thinnest endothelial grafts, DMEK grafts. A coating can reduce the trauma of injection by reducing friction between cells and injector walls.
