Register as a Donor
The Need Is Real
Thousands of people across Minnesota and millions worldwide are waiting for a corneal transplant that could restore their vision and their independence. Behind every number is a person who can't drive, read or recognize the faces of those they love.
Registered donors make it possible for Lions Gift of Sight to act when it matters most.
Don't Count Yourself Out
Eligibility surprises most people. Age is not a barrier. Neither is a history of cataracts, laser eye surgery, most cancers, or even poor vision. Medical professionals evaluate each potential donor individually, and the vast majority of people who wish to donate are able to do so.
If you have questions about a specific health condition, we encourage you to reach out — we're glad to help you find out where you stand.
Regardless of your age, health, religion, gender or race, everyone can share the gift of sight. Use this secure form to register as an organ, eye and tissue donor.
Is My Life the Priority?
Yes. If you are taken to the hospital after an accident or injury, it is the hospital’s number one priority to save YOUR life. Your status as a donor is not even considered until every effort has been made to try to save you life and the you're declared clinically and legally deceased. In fact, the hospital care team doesn't even know your donor status.
Register through MyChart
If you use MyChart to manage your healthcare, you can now register as a donor directly through your patient portal. When you do, your decision is added to the National Donate Life Registry and travels with you if you ever move or change health systems. Your care team will never see your donor status. Only donation professionals can access that information.
